Raul Castro, MD, MS, PA-C, RDMS, RDCS, is an experienced Physician Associate providing comprehensive services in gastroenterology, as well as prior experience in emergency medicine, urgent care, and primary care across New Jersey and New York. He is dedicated to delivering efficient, patient-centered care for a wide range of acute and chronic conditions.

  Mr. Castro earned his Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Touro University, New York City campus. He brings extensive clinical experience from multiple urgent care centers and hospital emergency departments, including St. Michael’s Medical Center in Newark, New Jersey.

  Prior to becoming a Physician Associate, Mr. Castro specialized in general, OB-GYN, and cardiovascular imaging, enhancing his diagnostic accuracy and clinical insight. He is also certified in electromyography (EMG) and performs nerve conduction studies, allowing him to diagnose a wide range of neurological and post-traumatic conditions.

  He earned his Medical Doctor degree from Cayetano Heredia Peruvian University in 1994 and completed an OB-GYN fellowship in 1998. He worked for many years serving underserved populations before emigrating to the United States.

  Mr. Castro is licensed in both New Jersey and New York and holds multiple certifications, including ACLS, BLS, and PALS. He is fluent in English and Spanish and is committed to clear communication, proactive patient advocacy, and compassionate care for diverse patient populations.

In gastroenterology, Mr. Castro works closely with Dr. Boris Chusid, a highly experienced specialist. While Dr. Chusid focuses primarily on performing procedures, Mr. Castro plays a key role in patient care by conducting consultations, preparing patients for procedures, and ensuring smooth coordination of care before and after treatment.
